Virat Kohli open letter to Indian batsman: his mantra for 2017 is need for making 'bold moves'

Virat Kohli done three double hundreds in three consecutive series were enough to put him in prime space in cricketing history.

Virat kohli has had incredible success in all cricket formats and has amassed 739 runs in 10 ODIs in 2016. Apart from the batting, his captaincy of the Test side has shone through as India racked up one series win after another in the last twelve months. Under his Captainship, the men in blue have cemented their place at the top of the ICC Test rankings and have looked an unstoppable force on home soil. Heading into the new year, Virat Kohli would be looking to continue his red-hot form, and if his mantra for 2017 is anything to go by, then one can expect fireworks coming from his bat.
However, if you thought that his ride was as smooth as some of his strokes, then you could be mistaken. In an open letter to his fans, he reveals how he sometimes has to plunge into a risk without being totally sure of its consequences. "Somehow, people believe I know exactly what I am doing, that I know for sure how my decisions are going to turn out. And given the recent successes on the pitch, that belief is now probably sweeping the nation. But here’s the truth: I don’t," Kohli wrote in the letter.
"But what I do know is, no matter how bold or scary it may seem; when the time comes, I have got to make that move. I have to set my fears aside and take the plunge," he further added. Before signing off, the Indian Test captain shared his mantra for 2017 and it reflected his sky high confidence. "So, here’s my mantra for the New Year: I will do what I have always done follow my instincts and make my own choices."
The Indian fans would be hoping for a similar year from their hero in 2017 and anything close would mean that Kohli would be rewriting history books once again. If he remains his'bold' self and backs his instincts, a continuation of this success story shouldn't surprise many.
